Tell us something about you.
In my free time I enjoy reading through the Bible, writing short stories (I have written over 80 short stories since 4th grade!), going to Bible studies and learning about God, singing, playing violin and piano, learning instruments like the harp and guitar, participating in the musical, bouldering and rock climbing, cooking, enjoying fellowship and community with other disciples of Christ, and honestly anything that involves being outside! I also enjoy time with my family. They are so important to me.
God has been calling me to be a nurse and I am so excited to then go on mission trips around the world as a missionary nurse too! I want to plant seeds of Christ’s love in other’s hearts and make sure they know that they are loved and seen. Nursing is such an amazing career for this calling!
I wanted to pursue this online course of Intro to Nursing with Mrs. Wheelwright because I wanted to gain more knowledge of what nurses do. I have already had over 100 hours of experience in the hospital shadowing nurses and also volunteering and helping PCTs with their tasks. From these experiences I’ve learned what kind of nurse I want to be, that is, a loving, empathetic, patient, and respectful nurse! Nurses go through a lot and sometimes aren’t treated very kindly, but this will only push me to love others more. I am excited to see how God will work through me!

What have you enjoyed most about your Carone Learning course?
I have enjoyed that the Carone Learning course is self paced! I am very involved in my school with leadership positions (NHS Officer, Orchestra Social Chair, Chapel Committee, Head of Praise Band and Co-Founder, Podcast Team) and so I have enjoyed how flexible the course is! It doesn’t cause me to feel stressed and I like learning about the career of nursing! Mrs. Wheelwright also checks in on me quite often and makes sure that I am doing well which is so kind! Even though it is an online course, it feels like it’s in person and this is another thing I enjoy about it.
What did their teacher have to say about them?
Alexa is a wonderful student to work with! She’s dedicated to her studies and eager to learn. She’s working towards becoming a nurse and I respect that she relies on her hard earned knowledge and faith to help her through her course work.
