Meet Brooklyn W.! Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Let us introduce you to our student of the week, Brooklyn W.!  Brooklyn was enrolled in physiology with us. She really appreciated the communication and support she had from her teacher. Brooklyn was also really excited to learn information to help improve her health as well as others’ as she works to pursue her upcoming career in nursing.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course?

This course is a very good learning experience for students interested in exploring their education in physiology. I like that the teacher is very helpful and very responsive to emails. The course is very well organized

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life?

I have learned a lot of terminology that will better help prepare me for my upcoming nursing career.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness?

I now know what is most healthy for my body and how much exercise I should be getting each week. My health is very important to watch and pay attention to what foods I eat. It’s taught me to exercise and what exercises are healthy for my body

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals?

My instructor, Jessica Shumway, is a great teacher. Any questions or concerns I have she always answers emails fast and explains each question I have. She sends me updates each week to let me know how I am doing. She’s helped me have more self confidence. I would like to thank her for being such a great teacher.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial?

I signed up because my guidance counselor recommended it since I will be attending nursing school. It’s been beneficial to me learn more about anatomy and physiology and the differences between the two.

Please share any other comments you have about cFitness Academy or your Carone Learning Course.

This class was wonderful and very well organized. I would recommend anyone taking the course to help better their knowledge in any subject. My teacher was great help and even made her phone number available so I could reach her anytime. I learned so much from this class and I’m so happy I took it.

Here’s what Brooklyn’s teacher had to say about her:

“Brooklyn is a wonderful student who submits work that has been carefully thought out and heartfelt. The quality is outstanding. She has stayed on pace or ahead throughout the course and is easy to communicate with.”

In Brooklyn’s physiology class she was asked to discuss how to talk with people that might have difficulty, in one way or another, speaking. There was also a follow up question to think about how difficult it would be for you to have troubles speaking. Brooklyn was very thoughtful with her response:

People who have a difficult time getting their words out are just as intelligent as people who don’t. It’s important to have good eye contact and wait patiently for them to finish speaking. I would make sure the person felt comfortable and didn’t feel ashamed to talk. If I couldn’t understand them they could write me little notes so I could understand them better. It’s important to have a positive attitude and good communication skills. The person needs to feel as if you are taking them seriously and even encouraging them to better their speaking skills. It would be very difficult for me if I couldn’t talk because I love to talk and I’m a very outgoing person. My anxiety would be hardest for me because I would struggle with what other people thought of me when I spoke. I would struggle because I like to express how I feel about situations and communicate with people around me. If I couldn’t speak I would find new ways to express myself and become more confident with myself.

Just as all of our students are unique, we think Brooklyn is pretty great and we’re proud to have her in class! Thanks, Brooklyn!
