Meet Lily N. – Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Lily is taking Fitness Fundamentals 2 – her second course with Carone Learning!

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? I like how my Carone Learning course, 21-22 Fitness Fundamentals 2_Richards, is structured. It is an online course, but I spend more time exercising than sitting in front of a computer. The online course provides a lot of information in small intervals which makes it easier for me to remember. I love how open-ended the fitness logs are. I can choose my own exercises, so I can do the exercises I love, not the exercises the course chooses for me.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? Carone Learning has taught me a lot about fitness. For someone considering studying medicine, knowing the many things Fitness Fundamentals 2 taught me is useful, regardless of medical specialty.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? I cannot begin to describe how my fitness level has changed. At the beginning of the school year, this Pillsbury dough-girl could barely run a few feet down the road without being winded. Now, my muscles are much stronger, making it easier to complete tasks involving heavy lifting. I have always been “chubby,” but not anymore. A funny story regarding the effectiveness of the exercise in this course: I found a skirt I bought almost four years ago. Back then, it wrapped around my waist and held on very tightly. Now, after four years and a growth spurt, when I put on the skirt, it slides loosely down to my hips.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? My fitness instructor, Mrs. Heidi Richards, has been very helpful in my course. She offers feedback on subjects that help make my workouts not only more effective but fun. It is extremely helpful to have a teacher that understands how hard it can be to get outside and exercise when you live in a location with a lot of snow and wonderfully “warm” temperatures hanging in the negatives for a good chunk of the winter. Her cheerful attitude is part of what makes this course so enjoyable.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? After doing some preliminary research, I signed up for this course to provide a more structured physical education class. I am completely homeschooled, so my physical education class was not very structured. My adult cousin mentioned that her physical education courses in school required exercise and a health course to form that part of her high school grade. Going into high school, it made some aspects of grading harder. It made better sense to use an online course like this one. Having a more structured physical education class made me have a sort of responsibility and want to excel like in my other classes.

Here’s what Lily’s teacher had to say about her: Lily has taken two courses with me and each time she’s been consistent in her work efforts and login activity. Her work is always well done and well thought out and organized, I appreciate that she puts 100% into everything she does. Lily has positively accepted teacher feedback throughout the course and follows through as best she can, such as continually working on her confidence with new workouts when she struggles performing them well. She’s been open to trying new and hard things as she and her companions have varied the workouts every few weeks. I truly believe has benefitted from these courses, both physically and mentally. She’s been a joy to work with these two semesters and look forward to seeing what she has yet to accomplish in the next several weeks.

Meet Josephine A. – Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Josie is currently taking Accelerated Comprehensive PE – a course which allows students to explore concepts involving personal fitness, team sports, dual sports, and individual and lifetime sports!

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? I like that I can complete it at my own pace while still being able to have a pacing guide to give me an idea of when to turn things in.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? I say accountability- it’s up to me to turn in my assignments, and it’s my responsibility to be prepared.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? It’s helping me with endurance and strength exercises.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? My instructor has been super flexible and understanding in answering any questions, and always checks in with us!

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? I have hypermobile EDS, so I couldn’t take regular gym classes. Carone’s learning guide was much more helpful because I can exercise at my own pace without hurting myself.

Sophia is currently taking Fitness Fundamentals 2 – a course which allows students to discover new interests as they experiment with a variety of exercises in a non-competitive atmosphere.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? What I loved most about my Fitness Fundamentals course is the workouts that we had to complete every week, especially the cardio, since it helped me feel more confident and strong.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? Throughout my course, I have learned several interesting things about my body, things that can affect it, and the fundamentals of physical fitness.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? My Carone Learning course has helped me increase my level of health and activity by helping me become stronger through weekly stretching, cardio, and strength training, which has been very fun to complete.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? Ms. Richards has been very helpful by giving relevant feedback about my work and advice on my exercises from her own experiences.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? Since I began doing online school, I had to have all the mandatory courses needed to get through high school, and fitness happened to be one of those courses. Therefore, I was enrolled in Carone Learning and have been enjoying the coursework ever since. The exercises and weekly fitness logs have been very beneficial for my health and have helped me feel more confident about myself.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? I enjoy that my Carone Learning course not only provides motivation to exercise but also teaches me how to live a healthy life with lessons on goal-setting, proper nutritional values, how to exercise safely and properly, and much more. It offers engaging lessons that allow me to interact with other students and fun activities that help solidify the information presented.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? My Carone Fitness course taught me healthy habits that I can apply to my life and how to find enjoyable activities that benefit my body and motivate me to keep exercising.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? My Carone Fitness course taught me that exercise can be both fun and beneficial. It also taught me how to set realistic goals that I can work towards.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? My instructor has helped me extensively in my course. She is constantly giving me valuable feedback on my work. Her feedback helps me find areas where I can improve and where I am doing well.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? Since I am homeschooled, I use my current Carone Fitness course as my P.E. class. I would highly recommend Carone Fitness if you want to take an online P.E. or fitness course. Carone’s courses give assignments and criteria you must fulfill for the week, but you can be creative when fulfilling them. You are not restricted to a tight schedule, and you can work in a way that is specific to you. For example, a criterium for the week requires x minutes of cardiovascular training. My course allows me to choose what specific cardiovascular activity–dance, running, or combat, for example–I use to fulfill the criterium, as well as the ability to exceed the minimum requirement.

Meet Benny P. Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Benny is taking elementary PE and health he has enjoyed adding to his already active lifestyle by trying new activities and learning from the videos.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? I like watching the video lessons and riding my bike for my fitness activity.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? I have learned that moving and staying active is good for me to do!

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? It has helped me improve because I now try to be active everyday.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? My instructor has responded quickly to my questions and given helpful tips.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? I signed up for this course to go with my homeschool work. It has been beneficial because I am learning new things about health and fitness.

An example of the good work the Benny does is on his 1.3 assignment where he matched pictures with emotions he made sure that all emotions that could be been more than one were labeled with each option and explained as well.

Meet Julia L. Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Julia took Advanced PE 1 through Carone Learning she has enjoyed expanding her knowledge, and working on all areas of physical fitness to help her as a track athlete. She has enjoyed the course content, earning high school credit and working at her own pace.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? I love the freedom it gives me to learn and work at my own pace. I also love seeing other students’ comments from all across the world- it is really amazing to make connections with people in completely different countries!

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? I’ve learned a lot about balance in exercise, and taking a full-body approach to fitness and wellness. I think that is incredibly important, and is so healthy in the long-run!

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? I have been encouraged to try different fitness activities, and to break out of my usual workout schedule, pushing myself, and listening to my body. I have loved trying new things, and taking a new approach to fitness.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? Ms. Heidi has been very helpful in helping me meet my goals, and I am grateful for all of her insight!

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? I signed up for this course to fulfill my graduation requirements for high school, and I have learned so much from this course.

Please share any other comments you have about cFitness Academy or your Carone Learning course: I have loved this course so far, and I’m glad I am fulfilling my credit requirements, while learning something new- all at my own pace.

Julia is always providing great quality work in all of her assignments. She is continually on schedule and makes sure to respond quickly to any check ins or questions that I might have. She has been dealing with some setbacks in her routines recently but has consciously made an effort to change things up so that she can still be active and continue to meet her physical goals too, which I admire. – H. In a team huddle (where students share thoughts and ideas about a certain topic) Julia explained how her level of fitness for one area compares to another. Here is what she said: “I am a track athlete- so I feel like my physical fitness is very much specialized in cardio, and obviously my legs- however I do think it is consistent overall. I have noticed that my upper body is lacking in strength (as seen in my physical assessment, from my very poor demonstration of pushups). I make a large effort to condition my entire body, even though most of my workouts revolve around running. My daily workout regimen includes abs, and cross-training as well, with some swim workouts, and weighted leg workouts as well, but, as I am recovering from injury and I am naturally weaker in my arms, it is hard to devote as strong or specific of a workout to my upper body. There is a noticeable difference in intensity between my upper body training and my other training, but I think that because of my injuries, this is natural. I think that continuing my PT and keeping up with my (beginner!) arm exercises, my arms will grow stronger as they heal over time- and hopefully be on par with the rest of my body, soon.”

Meet Luke V. Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Luke is taking strength training and has done very well improving his strength and endurance throughout the course. He has appreciated this course encouraging him to stay active during the lockdown in the UK, where he is at, schools have remained closed this year.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? It helps me to keep active during the lockdown.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? How to endure when things get tough.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? I was fairly inactive before starting with Carone Learning. Now I can run for longer times and my strength is improving.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? She has stayed in contact with me weekly and asks if I need any help. She is very encouraging and replies to my assignments with helpful tips.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? I would not have been able to do a course in person over the past year since the schools are closed in the UK. Carone fitness has helped me to be able to exercise at my own pace.

Please share any other comments you have about cFitness Academy or your Carone Learning course: I’ve enjoyed strength training and Carone fitness has helped me to develop good habits in strength training for the future.

In the Strength Training course students are asked to do an assignment “Analyzing the Athlete”, where students take a look at a specific athlete or athletic position and put together a workout routine specific to that.
Luke’s analysis was very well done: Patrick Mahomes; Football, Quarterback – Exercises to include: Bicep Curls (You need some strong biceps to throw a football very fast or far), Tricep Extensions (Your triceps are also important in throwing the football), Shoulder Press (Your shoulders are also very Important in throwing a football), Weighted squats (Quarterbacks also need to run at times and they better have strong legs to do it. They also need be able to stand their ground when being pulled down), Weighted Lunges (You need a balance of hams and quads in order to prevent injury), Rows (A quarterback needs a strong back to help with throwing the ball)

Meet Alexis S. Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Alexis is taking Intro to Nursing through Carone Learning, she enrolled in the course to learn more about nursing and help her make a decision about what field of study to pursue in college. Alexis has enjoyed the flexibility of the course schedule, as well as the ease of the site. She liked that the content for the course was easily accessible and she understood what was expected of her.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? It was easy to use once you got used to the site and I was able to fully understand anything that was taught or expected of me to know.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? That you can easily work ahead due to online classes and I will now know the basics of nursing when going into college for it.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? It has made me aware of the things I should do better and the thing I’m doing well at.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? She has always responded back when I had a concern or question about anything and gave me useful feedback!

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? I signed up to know if I would like nursing before I officially made it my major for college. This is because for the longest time I have thought I would become a first grade teacher and wanted to be sure in my decision. Taking this course gives me basic knowledge on what I will be learning in college for this major.

As part of the course work Alexis was asked what field of nursing she would be interested in going into. This is her response: “I would choose to become a pediatric nurse as my specialty. This is because I enjoy working with kids. For example, for service hours I run a K – 4th grade dance team at a local elementary school. I also was originally going to college as an elementary education major but just recently decided to go into nursing. I feel I work well with kids and I love talking to them because there’s never a dull day. Helping kids and making them smile is a huge feeling because they always will look up to you and I would like to be a role model for those kids.”

Meet Caleb T. Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Caleb was enrolled in Fitness Fundamentals with us because he didn’t have time in his school schedule. Taking an online course was helpful to him so he could fit other needed courses into his schedule. He liked seeing progress physically in many areas including on the scale, in flexibility and strength! He also learned exercising can be more enjoyable than he thought!

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? Seeing progress physically.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? That exercising can be more enjoyable than I thought.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? I have seen results both on the scale, in my flexibility, and strength.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? She has sent me reminders to submit my assignments.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? Because I needed a fitness class to show to my school. Taking this course online was beneficial since this unusual time could not hinder this class.

Here’s what Caleb’s teacher had to say about him: I have been particularly impressed with Caleb’s diligence in continually making an effort to get as much of his workouts in and to do a little better each week, even when it proved difficult and frustrating. He’s never given up and even was prepared to do more fitness logs than was required in the course. I appreciate his work ethic. Meet Nevaeh S. Carone Learning Student of the Week!

Nevaeh was in our Health & Personal Wellness course. She spent time working on her diet and adding exercise in to her routine through her health habit project. She enjoyed tracking her progress and seeing her improvement over the semester.

What do you like most about your Carone Learning course? I enjoy tracking my progress from the assignment we started in the first lesson, I enjoy seeing how much I have improved over the course of the semester.

What have you learned in your Carone Learning course that will most help you in your life? The thing in the course that I have learned that helped me the most is learning how to better my communication with others.

How has your Carone Learning course helped you improve your level of health or fitness? This course has helped me improve my health in many different ways. One way it has helped me is that it has encouraged me to become more active again since I haven’t been as active since corona hit.

How has your cFitness Academy instructor helped you with your course or your goals? My teacher for this course has been amazing. She is so kind and she has pushed me to do the best I can do in the class.

Why did you sign up for a course through cFitness Academy, and how has taking this course online been beneficial? I signed up for this course because of Corona. I think this class has benefited me a lot because in my opinion I think it makes me be more dedicated to school and it has also gave me a chance to be able to do more things with my family.

Please share any other comments you have about CFitness Academy or your Carone Learning course: I have enjoyed this class a lot to be honest. It is defiantly a new experience compared to regular school but I have had a pretty good semester and my teacher has helped me out a lot.
